How do I trademark a slogan and market it?

Anyone have any experience trademarking a slogan and marketing it to companies?|||Why do you want to market a slogan?? and more importantly who do you think will buy it??? a slogan is considered an intangible item that although may have a value it often can't be attached to anything else . thus it's value is limited. Tangible items like logos. trademarks, or names have value because they are recognized by those things and people are familiar with them. Nike uses the slogan "just do it" but doesn't have exclusive rights to it. anyone can use that but if they did most people would attach it to Nike and it would be useless. A slogan can also age a company or stereotype it. And often has to change with the times to be viable. But if you have an idea for one you must have it dated and notarized stating that it is your idea and when you thought of it. that way if any of the companies you approach use it later you can say they stole it. But talk to the marketing depts at the companies where your slogan can be implemented and see what they say. Maybe they will simply buy it from you.
